The September 2010 issue of
sra:news (Social Research Association, UK) has a report by
Rosie McLeod (TNS-BMRB) on the SRA Summer Event. Two speakers seem to have
covered the use of panels, Patrick Sturgis (Director of the National Centre for
Research Methods, Southampton, hub) directly and, indirectly, Paul Allin
(Deputy Director, Office of National Statistics). The message seems to
have been to "resist the temptation of most on-line panels which offer cheap,
quick, but often unreliable findings."
In the same issue there's an announcement from
Eleanor Simmons about a new on-line research tool for Further Education,
www.thelearnerpanel.co.uk
One or more of these may be able to offer specific
advice or refer you to others ("snowball" sampling?). I doubt if anay of
them are on the SPSSX list, so I've copied this to them and also to
Nick Moon.

Subject: Report Findings
Disclaimers
Would appreciate some input on current or viable
disclaimers to add to a
report - Like a statistical note that cautions the
usage of the results.
Particularly studies that are Web-based and use a
panel.
