Dear Listers,
For some of our research projects we have used customized scripts to reformat output into tables in which significant differences in one-way ANOVAs are bolded, and also cross-tab tables are highlighted if Chi-Square is significant, and cells in which the standardized residuals are over 2/under -2 are bolded. These procedures have been used as a way of highlighting findings for further exploration. This has worked fine with earlier versions of SPSS, but carrying it forward to newer versions has not gone smoothly.
We are now standardizing on V19. We are well aware of Type I error in the procedures just described and would prefer the highlighting to be based instead on effect sizes or at least in some way to incorporate effect size. We are not wedded to using scripts if there are other approaches that might work better (R, Python...). Our in-house expertise in scripts, R and Python ranges between limited and nonexistent.
We are seeking paid help with this change, using v19. For organizational reasons we would prefer to work with a small company (i.e., an entity with a formal organization) or at least someone whose full-time work is in this area rather than an individual who might be doing the work after his/her day job.
So as not to clutter up the listserve, please reply to me directly at
[hidden email] if you are interested in this work or have suggestions for other groups/full-time individuals whom we might check out.
