SAX Basic hasn't been part of SPSS for many years!
I'd say probably since ver 16 or so. I'm sure Jon will chime in with more specific info. -------

Basic (no longer called SAX Basic) is available
in V22 just as in earlier versions and installed with the main Statistics
product.

To clarify this, SAX Basic became WinWrap
Basic some time ago, but it is from the same supplier/developer. Hence
the default extension for these files changed from sbs to wwd, although
both are recognized. The About box for the Basic editor now says
WinWrap(r) Basic. That was just a change in the supplier organization,
and many people still refer to it as SAX Basic. Functionally there
have been some small changes, particularly in the area of locale sensitivity
and Unicode.
The default choice between Basic and Python scripting and autoscripting on Windows is set via Edit > Options > Scripts (except for David Marso where the Python scripting choice is disabled :-)) Jon Peck (no "h") aka Kim Senior Software Engineer, IBM [hidden email] phone: 720-342-5621 From: David Marso <[hidden email]> To: [hidden email] Date: 09/15/2014 07:18 AM Subject: Re: [SPSSX-L] SAX Basic Sent by: "SPSSX(r) Discussion" <[hidden email]> SAX Basic hasn't been part of SPSS for many years!
