Searching for help on installing SPSS 11.04 I came across both your
names (as part of an email exchange on
http://listserv.uga.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0511&L=spssx-l&P=32131). I
take the liberty to write to you and to ask you whether you have
suggestions that can solve installation problems with SPSS 11.04.
When I try to install this downloaded patch of SPSS 11.04, I get the
error message:
An unexpected error occurred while installing "spsssmac.dll"
1008:17,-4
I logged in as root to do this, both in normal and safe boot, and
tried it also with my anti-virus program disabled (temporarily in the
trash). I tried to install over an existing 11.03 installation, and
as fresh install. I also tried to install in the root folder on my
main volume instead of in "Applications". All to no avail. Once or
twice the installation got further than this, but the VISE installer
then stumbled on installing a FAQ guide or such and reported it
couldn't find the folder.
I have a PowerBook G4, running OSX 10.4.9.
