This is a slightly bizarre request in that we run 800+ classroom
machines under XP, which use a ghosted image of SPSS 15 and an MSI file
which we run off a shared drive. This is all as Micro$oft and SPSS
indicates we should do. This has worked well for many years and versions
but we have recently encountered a 'feature' where the user is suddenly
presented with XP trying repair the MSI file. If the user 'Cancel's this
repair they can continue. This is gradually proliferating and causing
all sorts of problems in large classes.
What I'm asking is there anybody else out there who uses this technique
? and if so could they communicate directly with me on whether they have
this problem and / or what software they use to create their MSI file
etc. Any / all information greatly received. Thank you in advance for
any help.
Best Wishes
