Dear SPSS users,
I'm pleased to announce that SPSS 15 is now available in the US and Canada (for international customers, check with your local SPSS office for availability). Some of the new features in SPSS 15 include: * More powerful statistics such as Generalized Linear Models and Generalized Estimating Equations in the SPSS Advanced Models(tm) add-on module, which enable fitting a wide variety of models; Complex Samples Ordinal Regression in the SPSS Complex Samples(tm) add-on module; and Ordinal Regression in SPSS Base * Enhanced reporting with an extended Chart Builder, new chart types such as dual-Y axis charts and overlay charts, and PDF export. * More powerful data management with features such as the Export to Database Wizard for easily writing back to databases; Custom Attributes for creating user -defined dictionary information for variables; improved Variable Sets for working more easily with wide datasets; Optimal Binning in the SPSS Data Preparation(tm) add-on module for setting scale variable cutpoints; and support for the Dimensions Data Model(tm) * Enablement of the Predictive Enterprise with the SPSS Adaptor for SPSS Predictive Enterprise Services(tm) platform, which provides a centralized, secure, auditable repository for your analytical assets and processes * Easy Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Amos(tm) 7.0. You can fit models with ordered-categorical and censored data, impute numerical values for ordered-categorical and censored data, and determine probable values for missing or partially missing data values in a latent variable model. Please note: Although part of the SPSS Family, Amos must be purchased separately. * The SPSS Programmability Extension(tm), which provides the ability to extend the SPSS command syntax language with the full capabilities of the Python(r) programming language. This includes the ability to create user-defined SPSS procedures and to run user-defined procedures written by others. The new SPSS Developer Central Web site (http://www.spss.com/devcentral/) is your online resource for making the most of this powerful extension. To see a full list of features see http://www.spss.com/pdfs/S15CMPlr.pdf. Regards. Kyle Weeks, Ph.D. Director of Product Management, SPSS Product Line Product Management SPSS Inc. Diana,
I have asked a rep from the UK to follow-up with you regarding availability in the UK. Also, we are planning for a Mac version of SPSS 15 for mid-2007. Regards. You are not alone Kornbrot. Here in Australia, they refused to deliver until
next year. I bet they all don't want to bother till they come back from december holidays! What's the point in paying all the fees if we don't get the new features and updates on time? To tell the truth, Australian SPSS is the worst software distributors I came across. There are too many incidents to list here. Just because I like SPSS I'm putting up with them! - San On 9/19/06, Weeks, Kyle <[hidden email]> wrote: > > Diana, > > I have asked a rep from the UK to follow-up with you regarding > availability in the UK.
