SPSS 15 or PASW 17 on Windows 7?

Marta Garcia-Granero
Hi everybody on this cloudy Saturday morning (at least on Spain...):

I am playing a bit with Windows 7, installed in the second hard drive of
my old 32bits processor computer (yes, I know, no dual core, no gain in
speed, I'm just testing improved stability), and I was wondering if
anyone had any experience on installing/running SPSS15 or PASW17 (the
two versions I have access to) on Windows 7, and would not mind sharing
it with me. Is it possible, or should I wait for PASW18?

Best regards,
Marta GG

Dear Marta

I'm also on SPSS15, and would be interested to know in general which
versions of which SPSS products will run under Windows 7. Specifically,
SPSS15, Clementine 12, and earlier versions of AMOS.

Lemon, John S.
As far as I know only versions post-16 will work on Vista and 7 - I think 15 would work with a 'fix'

Marta,

I've been running SPSS 15 (grad pack) on Windows 7 with no problem.  The only thing you need to do is apply the Vista hotfix (which you would have needed for Vista anyway).  It works perfectly.

If you have any problems at all, try running it in Vista compatibility mode (right-click the prgram, choose Properties, then choose the Compatibility tab).  Windows 7 seems to work perfectly with most programs, although I am having problems with Endnote and integration with Word.

Good luck!

Hi Garry:

After installing all the patches up to "SPSS15.0.1.1", followed by
"SPSS15VistaHotfix", SPSS 15 (I mean, SPSS 15.0.1.1) runs flawlessly
under Windows 7 (32bits). I can't say anything about Clementine or AMOS.

Marta GG
