Twice this morning, I have run a battery of 9 or 10 logistic regression
models. I change the page setup to create a document to print, and send the document to the printer. Then, SPSS has completely vanished. All of the windows--syntax, data, and output--just disappear. This does not happen with any other application that I am running. My OS is Windows XP, SP2. Has anyone else had this happen? If so, what did you do to fix the situation? Only one thing on my system has changed recently: I installed the hotfix for 16.0.2.1 at the end of the day on Monday. Thanks. ===================== To manage your subscription to SPSSX-L, send a message to [hidden email] (not to SPSSX-L), with no body text except the command. Yes, I have the exact same problem and no one seems to know how to fix it. It happens all the time. martin

Does anyone know if SPSS is planning to release some kind of "no longer
sucks" patch for 16? I've lost count of the number of things wrong with it. -Graham Martin Sherman wrote: > Yes, I have the exact same problem and no one seems to know how to fix it. It's a good question. I am going to have a VERY hard time avoiding the
temptation to rely exclusively on STATA unless there is either a) such a patch, or b) a virtually free upgrade to a hopefully stable version 17. -----Original Message----- From: SPSSX(r) Discussion [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Graham Wright Sent: Thursday, July 31, 2008 12:50 PM To: [hidden email] Subject: Re: SPSS 16.0.2.1 Terminating Abruptly and Vanishing Does anyone know if SPSS is planning to release some kind of "no longer sucks" patch for 16? I have never installed Version 16 because I fear encountering many of the
problems so many have experienced. Does anyone know if 17 is likely to be materially different or any more stable, especially after the first bug catching? The beta looked promising, hopefully the final release will continue to be.
