I've had a problem like this on 19 (and maybe 18 as well). After stumbling
around for a while and also talking to our tech support, I de-installed the
printer from the operating system and then re-installed it. That fixed
things for me. It's as if the file in which spss stores the printer
connections is corrupted.

Subject: SPSS 17 printing error
Hi,
I encountered a printing problem using SPSS 17. When I clicked the print
icon, it displays the printing range. After clicking the OK button, the
selected output was not printed and the printing progress window (shows the
percent of the page printed) was never displayed. Does anyone encountered
the same problem? May I know how you have solved it?
Thanks.
