I have posted the short course I mentioned
some time back on rim weighting aka raking on the SPSS Community site (www.ibm.com/developerworks/spssdevcentral)
in the Books and Articles section. It covers theory and practice
of using this technique with the SPSSINC RAKE extension command. The
command itself is included in the Python Essentials in at least V20 and
V21 but can also be downloaded from the site.
There is also an update to the extendedTransforms.py
module with a new function, vlookupgroupinterval, that looks up values
according to a set of intervals within groups specified as an SPSS dataset.
