I posted this to the newsgroup and thought I had done this to the list as well, but have not seen it so perhaps there was a problem ...
SPSS DE 4.0 is running very slow; local IT suspect a Windows update the cause. I have a message in to SPSS tech support, but thought I should check if others are seeing this as well and if so, have you been able to resolve the issue?

ps, I have contacted SPSS tech support; they have had some suggestions which I have passed on to the local IT folks. However, I was wondering whether this might be a known problem of some sort.
