SPSS Data Entry 4.0

Patel, Nitin
Hello,

I am new in building forms on Data Entry. I want the form to pop up
questions one at a time (which I am able to do) and if the participant
wants to skip a question, I want them to be able to skip a question on
the second try. So for example, the first time a participant tries to
answer the question, I want a message to pop up saying "Try to answer
the question", the second time around I want them to be able to skip the
question. Is this possible?

Thank you,

R: SPSS Data Entry 4.0

I am not sure about SPSS Data Entry interface but what I usually do using
other data entry tools is to have a follow up question conditioned to the
first question's answer. For instance if - and only if - the respondent
answers unsatisfactorily the first question he/she will be prompted the same
question again. In the questionnaire flow these will be 2 separate question:
the first will have a mandatory answer, while the second can be skipped. The
instructions will be set accordingly.

Luca
