Somewhat odd request. I am looking for screenshots of what SPSS looked like
prior to windows. I vaguely remember 3 screens with blue and red. I have used it for many years and someone sent me screenshot of the first windows version of SPSS. I just wanted to see what it looked like prior to windows. Thanks. ===================== To manage your subscription to SPSSX-L, send a message to [hidden email] (not to SPSSX-L), with no body text except the command. You are thinking of SPSS/PC+. It
had a split-screen view with syntax in one and the output in the other.
I designed and developed that. It was called the Review editor.
There was a function key menu at the bottom for operations. Of
course, this was all character mode. Unfortunately I don't have any
pictures, but Googling for spss/pc+ Review editor turns up a surprising
number of hits considering the vintage.

Tim If you want to see what mainframe SPSS syntax and output looked like before PC+, have a look at http://surveyresearch.weebly.com/ibmreg-spssreg-statistics-overview.html and my 2006 presentation to ASSESS (SPSS users in Europe) http://surveyresearch.weebly.com/old-dog-old-tricks-using-spss-syntax-to-beat-the-mouse-trap.html (especially the slide-shows in the latter). There are a couple of examples of FREQUENCIES output on page 2 of http://surveyresearch.weebly.com/uploads/2/9/9/8/2998485/3.1.2__analysing_two_variables.pdf and page 6 of http://surveyresearch.weebly.com/uploads/2/9/9/8/2998485/1.1.3__introduction_to_the_use_of_computers_in_survey_analysis.pdfIn In the latter there are also examples of FREQUENCIES ~ ~ ~ /HISTOGRAM (Satisfaction with life as a whole, page 7) the no longer available FREQUENCIES ~ ~ ~ / FORMAT CONDENSE (Age last birthday, page 8) and CROSSTABS (various /CELLS options: Sex by Happy and Sex by Happy by Agegroup, pages 9-13). These were all produced on lineprinters between 1972 and 1992 using various versions of SPSS and SPSS-X up to release 8 on CDC 2000, ICL 1900, DEC 10 and Vax mainframes. You will notice few changes for the better in publication quality since then.
