SPSS MERGING

Can anybody tell me how to merge 2 data files with different number of records but same number of variables.

With your rather undetailed question I would guess to look at ADD FILES command!
Maybe a few more specifics in the future?

So you are referring to Data- Merge files-Add cases command in Spss to merge too different spss files one having 273 records and 515 records in the second so if we merge both there must be 788 records .
Also there is an error also coming some unpaired variables.

Could you please also explain what is difference between Add Cases and Add Variables with a example.

Go to http://www.ats.ucla.edu/stat/spss/topics/data_management.htm, and see the two tutorials on merging files (stacking and MATCH merging) under Intermediate Data Management.
