SPSS/Python workshop: SPSS + Python = Solutions

Wells, Christine

Greetings,

The UCLA ATS Statistical Consulting Group will be presenting a workshop that introduces the use of Python within SPSS called SPSS + Python = Solutions.  This six-hour workshop will introduce users to the basics of Python and to some of the ways that Python programming can be combined with SPSS syntax to create powerful and efficient solutions to common problems.  We think that many people will appreciate the power of combining SPSS and Python, and we hope to show some of this in our workshop.

This workshop is a first for us for several reasons:  This is the first time that we have done a presentation on this topic, the first time that we have ever charged a fee to attend one of our presentations, and the first time that we have actively sought audience members from outside of UCLA.  If you know of anyone who may be interested in attending this workshop, whether or not affiliated with UCLA, please forward this message along.

This seminar will be presented in the Visualization Portal, 5628 Math Sciences, on Friday, September 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  There will be a one-hour break for lunch.  Registration is required, as is a fee of $125.  Participants will receive a detailed handout of all topics and programs covered in the workshop.  For more information about the workshop (including an outline of topics) and to obtain the registration form, please visit http://www.ats.ucla.edu/stat/spss/SPSS_Python_workshop/default.htm

We are very excited about this workshop, and we hope that you will be too!

Best regards,

Statistical Consulting Group
