SPSS - Upgrade

GauravSrivastava
Hi All,

currently, I am using SPSS base v19 for my work. Now I am looking to upgrade it and buy some add-ons features like (Custom table features for more complex tables). Can you help me by suggesting available addons and it's feature and how can I use it in my advanced analysis.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Gaurav,

Let me beat to the email David before he replies :P

What type of work are you doing - aka what type of analyses are you running?  What do you plan on doing?  Recommendations can only really be made once the listserv knows what you'll be doing else they'll be blind recommendations.

Hi J,

Glad to see your response.
basically I have to run few complex tables with significant test added in that table along with weighting and some analysis like conjoint, cluster etc.
Hope this give you clear view of my requirement. Please let me know if you have any more question.

I might well be wrong but I'll bet not. V19 is history. V20 is almost history. What I'd guess will be V21 is now in beta test and I'd expect it to be released later this summer. Look at the spss website and see what they are selling.

Wow, I should have reread my edit to the email before I sent it out...

" Let me beat to the email David before he replies :P "

Meant to say:

"Let me beat David to the email before he replies :P"

Meh, but it looks like you understood well enough.

////

Not sure how recent this page is but here is a breakdown of some of the addons and modules:

There are also invaluable information on the SPSS website itself (as well as some trial downloads for some of their add-ons).

I personally haven't worked with any Add-ons for awhile (and as such won't make any recommendations) - I just write what I want in Python (and the standard SPSS package is normally enough for what I do).

Good luck,

-J

Hi Gene,

Thanks for the info.
I have also gone through the website but wanted to get some expert opinion/review before buying.
