SPSS Version 20: Sorting

Kreischer,Resha M

I have noticed that I receive an Ouput Window now anytime I sort a field. I tried to find a way to stop that action in the Edit/Options window, but don’t see anything.

Does anyone know how to take care of this?

By default, your commands appear in a log block in the Viewer.  Hence if there is no output window, Statistics must create one.  You can change this behavior by going to Edit>Options>Viewer and unchecking the box "Display commands in the log".

Or you can run SET PRINTBACK OFF.
