HI there
I have a 25 user site licence for SPSS version 18. We have installed it in a lab at the campus. We are using GHOST to regularly image those computers. We can't seem to determine what's happening with the lock code at GHOST image time. The lock code SEEMS to be changing once the machines are reimaged with GHOST and thereby can't relicense the machine with it's previous authorization/license code.
A couple of questions/queries :
1. Is the lock code specific to a computer at manufacture time or is it a code that SPSS generates once it's installed for the first time?
2. Does the lock code change on a computer once it is imaged with GHOST?
3. Does anyone use SPSS and GHOST in this way? If so, can you indicate how you reinstall SPSS on licensed machines so that it does not require a new license?
Many thanks in advance for any suggestions/assistance you can provide.
