SPSS and computer memory

Stan Gorodenski
Please excuse this second sending of my message. I did not get a copy of
my first one and so I am not sure it was received.

All,
I have been told that Windows XP cannot use more than about 2 or 4 MB of
SDRAM. Thus, if one intends to purchase a pc and install XP instead of
Windows 7 or 8 one would be wasting money to purchase one that has more
than 4 MB SDRAM. This in turn makes me wonder about SPSS. Does SPSS make
use of the full memory potential of a machine, or is it limited in the
amount of SDRAM it can use? More importantly, since I have version 15,
is version 15 of SPSS limited to the amount of SDRAM it can use?

Someone had responded to me privately in a previous question I had. At
the time I needed to know if version 15 will work in the Windows 7
operating system. The person said they have Windows 7 and it does work.
I just discovered their is another complication. Will it work in a
64-bit operating system or will it only work in a 32-bit?
Stan
