SPSS books

Talino Bruno
I have not used SPSS for years. So I was wondering if I could get some
suggestions for a concise, thorough book/manual  that explains how to set-
up, run  statistical analyses and interpret SPSS output. Thanks for your
help.

Re: SPSS books

Lindsay Rice
I like 'Discovering Statistics Through SPSS' by Andy Field but this is
more of a textbook.  It is concise and a good guide for both SPSS and
statistics.
If you are looking for something shorter than a textbook, have used SPSS
before and want to use syntax I would recommend 'An Intermediate Guide
to SPSS Programming: Using Syntax for Data Management' by Sarah
Boslaugh.  It is short and designed for people that have used SPSS
previously.
Both those can be found used on amazon.com.
Also search for websites like Raynald's SPSS Tools which was a life
saver for me.  http://pages.infinit.net/rlevesqu/

Hope this helps!

Hi,

I've been using Statistics without Maths for Psychologists for a few years
now and I think its great for taking through all the basics of setting up
data and running the basic tests.

Hope that helps
Dave
