Dear colleagues,
I have two rather big spss files with the same variables, which I can
add together in my SPSS version 14 and save the result:
GET FILE= 'c:\big_file1.sav'.
ADD FILES /FILE=* /FILE='c:\big_file2.sav'.
SAVE OUTFILE='c:\very_huge_file.sav' /COMPRESSED.
And now I am able to work with the combined file without problems. But
as soon as I close SPSS, start it again and try to get the
very_huge_file.sav, SPSS puts "Out of memory" infobox and dies.
The size of the combined file is over 2.9 GB.
Has somebody already met this strange behavior? Must I always create the
big file from the two smaller parts?
Greetings
Jan
