I don’t know if any of you are French speakers (native or acquired) but I thought you might like to look at this site.
SPSS à l'UdeS <http://pages.usherbrooke.ca/spss/> (in French, by Eric Yergeau and colleagues, Université de Sherbrooke, Québec, Canada) has a comprehensive set of tutorials (SPSS 17) aimed at complete beginners.
Easy to navigate and very well organised, it comprises six sections:
1: Introduction
2: File management
3: Data transformations
3: Descriptive statistics
4: Inferential statistics
6: Interdependence
Definitely worth a look, even if you can’t read French. There’s a separate set for SPSS 15, still in French but with SPSS screenshots and dialog boxes in English.
