SPSS v17.01 logistic regression ignores table variables setting

Dear all,
 
It seems that SPSS v17.01 renders variable names instead of variable labels when I run logistic regression ('variables in the equation'). Is this a known problem or bug?

This was an intentional design decision because of the way that interactions are reported in the pivot table.  If you have an interaction of variables x and y, some of the pivot table will show it as
x by y
If variable labels were used here, the labels would be ambiguous or possibly so long as to be unwieldy.  You can see a similar treatment in multinomial logistic or GLM, for example, although the details of how the parameters are displayed is different.
