SPSS ver 15 on Win 7

Stan Gorodenski
Hello,
Some time ago I had asked if anyone knew if ver 15 would run on a Win 7
64-bit machine. Jon Peck tried it out and it ran, but I remember getting
a private message from someone else who said they are running ver 15 on
Win 7. Could that person get back to me? I installed SPSS ver 15 on my
new Lenovo Win 7 Pro 64-bit laptop but cannot get a license that will
take. When I enter the authorization code it licenses SPSS and my
programs will run, but when I power down the laptop and reboot, it loses
the license code. If I enter the authorization code again, it will again
work, but when I reboot it again loses the license. It is my
understanding that the license code is tied to the lock code. However, I
discovered that everytime I reboot the lap top a new lock code is
generated. As a result, the license code is no longer in sync with the
lock code and so SPSS will not run. It comes up with a message saying
the product is not licensed. It seems the way to resolve this is to
prevent SPSS from generating a new lock code everytime I reboot. Does
anyone know if this can be done? Does anyone know why it is generating a
new lock code everytime the computer is rebooted?
Stan

p.s., just to clarify. When I said it generates a new lock code every
time I reboot the computer, that is exactly what it does. I don't have
to launch SPSS. It generates a new code just by rebooting the computer.
Either something in SPSS or maybe something in Win 7 is initiating this
action.
