SPSS16 cannot hide multpile columns in data editor

wsu_wright
Anyone having the following problem with SPSS 16?

In SPSS 15 & earlier, I could highlight with my mouse several columns in the data editor & take one of the columns & use the mouse to resize the column & ALL columns highlighted would be resized (this is similar behavior for microsoft's excel).  This is not occurring in SPSS 16. When I select/highlight several columns & resize one column, none of the other columns change.

If you are interested in hiding columns (rather than just resizing them), define a variable set for only those variables you want displayed and use it (on the Utilities menu). Variables within the set are hidden in both the data window and dialogs.
