Statistics 21 actually has a native COMPARE
DATASETS command, but it is new in that release.
SPSSINC COMPARE DATASETS is an extension
command that requires the Python Essentials. Once installed it will
appear on the Data menu. If you don't already have it, you can download
it from the SPSS Community site at www.ibm.com/developerworks/spssdevcentral
Look on the Downloads for SPSS Statistics
page for the Extension Commands collection.
To install it, extract the spe file
from the download zip and install it using Utilities > Extension Bundles
> Install Extension Bundle.

Compare Datasets - how to install/activate?
Sent by:

Hello,
I'm trying to figure out how to use the compare data sets command. I'm
using SPSS version 20 on Windows XP. The command is not available
in the
Data menu.
Going through this list I found some references from 2009 suggesting that
I
need to installs some extensions, particularly for Python. I installed
the
SPSS_Statistics_PythonEssentials_20002_win32.exe and
SPSS_Statistics_NetPlugIn_20001_win32.exe.
Is there some other package which has the actual procedure that I need
to
install?
Thanks!
