How to convert the python timestamp from STRING to DATE format in SPSS?

Example: "25 Apr 2013 14:50:07"

Could not find a solution with ALTER TYPE
(i.e.: ALTER TYPE timestamp(date11). produces blanks).

date11 would not apply here.
Try DATETIME
