Saving Fixed ASCII from SPSS 17 (Mac) to include LF and CR

Is there a way to have SPSS 17 on the Mac save data files and include the Line Feed and Carriage Return nonprinted characters?

I assume I personally could run the txt file through some converter, but this is a solution will be for someone else who would prefer a "set it and forget it" option.
