Saving Ns, means and standard deviations within groups

lts1
Hi SPSSers,

I have a large multinational dataset that I need to subdivide within country, and then save the Ns, means & standard deviations of several variables. I'm hoping you can help me.

What I have been doing is using Filter to subdivide the data into one of 12 mutually exclusive categories within each country, then I used Descriptives to produce the Ns, means & standard deviations for the variables of interest. That produces them, but it doesn't save them. So, I started copying them into an Excel file. It quickly became evident that to continue with this method will be extremely tedious, especially since I have approximately 80 countries.

Can anyone help me automate this process? Please bear in mind that I have virtually no experience with macros. Also, you should know that although, the countries are numbered, there are some gaps in the numbering sequence.

Thanks in advance.

    Best,
        Lisa
