Dear List: I am running a 5 x 2 factorial using SPSS 25.0 (Univariate GLM) and clicked on SAVE and then on Residuals (Standardized and Studentized) and received the following message in the output. The output contained the Summary table
of ANOVA but included the following: Warning # 552 Possibly due to another error, a procedure has defined more new variables than it has added to the file. All those which have been defined but not added will be discarded and will be unavailable for further processing. UNIANOVA depressi BY treatmen age /METHOD=SSTYPE(3) /INTERCEPT=INCLUDE /SAVE=RESID ZRESID SRESID /PRINT DESCRIPTIVE HOMOGENEITY /CRITERIA=ALPHA(.05) /DESIGN=treatmen age treatmen*age.
However, when I run the same syntax via SPSS 24..00 there are no warnings and the data file does contain the requested residuals.
I am puzzled by this. Is there a bug in SPSS 25.0?? Martin F. Sherman, Ph.D. Professor of Psychology Director of Masters Education: Thesis Track Loyola University Maryland 4501 North Charles Street 222 B Beatty Hall Baltimore, MD 21210 410 617-2417 |
It seems to be a bug, but without the exact syntax and data so that it can be reproduced, the isn't much that can be done. First question, though, have you installed the fixpack for V25? On Mon, Apr 16, 2018 at 8:10 AM, Martin Sherman <[hidden email]> wrote:

It is the exact same syntax and exact same data. I will have to find out if Tech Services has installed the Fixpack for V25.

You can check the fixpack yourself. Help > About will show 25.0.0.1 in the lower left corner if the fixpack is installed. While you posted the syntax, I don't see the data. On Mon, Apr 16, 2018 at 11:53 AM, Martin Sherman <[hidden email]> wrote:
