Shade maps with SPSS

Hi List
Is it possible to create the shade map with spss. If so kindly let know the procedure and reference materials.

This is called a thematic map and is available in SPSS 15 or earlier with
the MapInfo Option. AFAIK, it is NOT available in 16 but I think something
is in the works for supporting maps in GPL in a future release of SPSS.
