Are you talking about the date in the header when the viewer file is printed? You can control that by going to page setup, clicking on the options button, and then adding a date control to the page header or footer. Use the Make Default button to force it for all new viewer files. Check to see if this is what you want by going to Print Preview.
This is not tied to the SET command.

I feel foolish for asking this again. But since installing v. 15.0 I no
longer have the current date showing in my output files. I know there is
a simple SET command to get
the date to appear in the printouts but for the life of me, I can't
remember what it is or find it in SPSS's help. Could someone pleae
refresh my dying brain! thanks.
