Significance Testing in Custom Tables

Russell Lightfoot
Is there a way in CTABLES to test for significant differences between the various categories of my by variable against total? For example, if my table headers are as follows:
Segment1 Segment2 Segment3 Segment4 Total
Can I test, for example, mean satisfaction with a product in Segment1 against Total, mean satisfaction with a product in Segment2 against Total, etc, with custom tables?
Thanks,
Russ

Re: SPSS in the mac

David Schur
Emel,

You did not indicate which version of SPSS (i.e. 16 or 17, etc you intend to run on a Mac), but if
it is version 16 or 17, I think your experience will be very positive. I would love to hear your
impressions if you do undertake it. One of the advantages in Statistics after 16 is its true multi-
platform compatibility, and simultaneous language support, meaning now all users on all platforms
(mac, windows, linux/unix) get the same new releases (and maintenance) at the same time. Regrettably, in the past there was a delay of months or years (in the case of the Mac). We track very
few Mac specific issues.

I use SPSS myself on a Mac, and I find the UI responsiveness to be generally equal to if not above a
similar Windows system on Intel Processors.

Regards,
David Schur
