Any help would be appreciated on the following:
I'd like to generate a series of datasets with the following features:
1- each dataset has the same specified percentage of cases that exceed a
given value
2- each dataset has a different distribution.
The point is to demonstrate that though two samples may be different when
characterised by the proportion reaching a criterion, they may show
considerable overlap in their distributions (and possibly vice-versa, if
you see what I mean).
I think there must be some way of using SPSS to do this.
