Hello, all,
I'd like to post the solution to a problem that I had, in case anybody
else encounters this at some point. My problem was:
"I am working with SPSS Version 14.0. I am trying to flag some individuals
in a file that was imported from Excel. I defined a few string variables
(1 char each) and am simply marking the relevant cases with a lower case
x. The odd thing that is happening is that an x is also appearing in the
6th case ABOVE the case that I am trying to flag. When I put the cursor
on that cell, it disappears, but if I don't, it remains."
This is apparently a bug, and patch 14.0.2 solves it. I'm happy to say -
no more phantom data.
