...haven't really used spss to enter data before, but I currently
have a student working for me entering values for about 25 variables
and 150 cases. We have spss 14. She was using the split window option
(don't know if this is relevant) and most of the variables/values are strings.
I wouldn't have believed it unless I saw it myself, but when she was
entering values for one of the variables and exiting the cell where
the value was entered, another cell's value was incorrectly altered
and the entry she just made was copied to that other cell.
I did a quick search on the web and didn't find any information about
the bug or a fix, but I didn't look long.
Could someone tell me if this is a known bug with spss 14 and whether
there is a patch and whether v15 or higher has already fixed this
problem? ...or if there is a work-around?
