Dear all,
I have to merge two data sets. dataset 1 has thousands of cases and dataset 2 has 30 cases. I now want to merge the 30 cases data set to dataset1 of respective primary keyed variable. I acheived this using SPSS21 but, I coulnt do the same with SPSS 20. Star join is not there in SPSS 20. So, In this case how to merge this using SPSS 20.
Thank u all in advance.... Regards, Rajesh M S |

MATCH FILES FILE=file1 /TABLE=file2 /BY
keyvars
Note that both files must be sorted by key values. DEFINE: "sometimes it works and sometimes it wont"...
Rick Oliver gave you the basic syntax. Are the two files SORTED? Are the keys in the 'TABLE" UNIQUE? Are there ERROR MESSAGES? --- The terms 'works' and "won't" are not useful. You need to provide context and info! There is also the mostly neglected FM to edify yourself!
