Startup file with personal setup?

Robert L

Is there any way to define a startup file where a new setup is defined, a file which is processed every time SPSS is run? I could of course make a syntax file with some SET commands, and then use INSERT to have all the new definitions run for each time the syntax is run. However, it seems as if it could be handy to run a setup file before that. Any suggestions?

Check out the new STATS PROJECT extension command available from the SPSS Community site (www.ibm.com/developerworks/spssdevcentral) in the Extension Commands collection.  It includes the ability to set a project at startup.  The project file can run arbitrary syntax and open a set of syntax, output, and data files automatically.  It requires the Python Essentials.
