Stat comparison question

kende jan
Dear all,
I have a sample of patient with SDRA. I want to compare their SF 36 scores and the SF 36
scores of general population. I think age and gender affect sf
36 scores. How can i do for comparison taking account age and gender.
For the general population i have only means and standard deviation by sex and gender not raw data.

Thanks in advance

Perhaps you can transform the SF 36 scores in your sample into Z scores
(using the corresponding mean& sd by gender and age) and then use a one
sample t-test using as  reference value 0.
