Suppressor variables

Karen Wood

There seems to be at least three tests that I have come across for suppressor variables. What, if any, are you using? I have included some output below.

Karen
                                                                                Results of Hierarchical analyzes
                                                                                         Beta coefficient

X1(numerical ability)                                       X2 (verbal ability)                                         X3 (fluid intelligence measure)

Step 1                             0.62

Step 2                              0.68                                                         -0.10

Step 1                             0.62

Step 2                             0.70                                                                                                                 -0.16

                                                                                zero-order correlations

X1                        __                                                    0.57***                                                                 0.49***

X2                                                                                                                                                      0.30*

X3

Y                0.62***                                                        0.29*                                                                   0.18

Re: Suppressor variables

Johnny Amora
Why dont you use SEM, instead, to handle suppressor variable?
