I concur!
My kludge is to comment out the DEFINE and !ENDDEFINE, but IMNSHO that should not be necessary. I suspect this could be fixed with minimal development effort! --

When the SE highlighting and error checking
was done, we didn't have the time/resources to include macros, old-style
abbreviated commands, Python programs, or R programs. You can request
this as an enhancement at the recently established RFE (request for enhancement)
site here.

Macros, python, R color coding aside - the standard syntax color coding is very tempramental in v23. When there are no error in syntax, it flags in red font. When a valid key word is in syntax it fails to color highlight it. In both cases if you simply make a very small tweak such as adding a space and deleting it, it then corrects itself and highlights correctly.
