I opened my saved syntax file today and the file is filled with weird
characters. Mostly boxes. Also there area only 385 lines of this gibberish instead of the 1600 or so that I had of readable syntax. Any ideas?? Looks like you might have a .sav file here. Could you have somehow
overwritten your syntax file with a data file? Jan,
I'm assuming that these lines arae from your 'syntax' file. $FL2@(#) PASW STATISTICS DATA FILE MS Windows 18.0.0 Intense anger ÀX@ If so, then I'd say that '... DATA FILE ...' tells you what happened. And that is that you (somehow) saved your data file on top of your syntax file. Hope you have a backup or can extract the syntax from the output or log files. Are you sure about that file? The
text you are showing indicates that it is an sav file, not a syntax file.

Thanks! The answer was as usual right in front of my eyes.
