How do I change the table output for a multi response question to show the
relevant value description rather than the 'non-descriptive' question label? The database has each possible response from multi response questions coded as a separate record with the actual question used as the label. I want to show all nine response options in the same table (after creating a multi response variable set), but this database structure gives me a table with nine lines of data - all with the same label. The current structure makes the output very hard to interpret and basically useless in terms of presenting. I know I can physically 're-label' each record, but that will take for ever as the database has over 2000 records. ===================== To manage your subscription to SPSSX-L, send a message to [hidden email] (not to SPSSX-L), with no body text except the command. If you are creating your table using CTABLES with predefined sets, by
default, values for dichotomous sets are labeled from the variable label for the set and values for category sets are labeled form the value label for the value. So, you can probably change either the variable labels or value labels before running your table. -----Original Message----- From: SPSSX(r) Discussion [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Peter Sent: Wednesday, November 11, 2009 6:23 PM To: [hidden email] Subject: Table output from multi response question How do I change the table output for a multi response question to show the relevant value description rather than the 'non-descriptive' question label?
