I am running SPSS version 19 with R-Project 2.10 and installed integration package for these programs. The editor supports syntax seems to BEGIN PROGRAM R. and END PROGRAM. However, the outputs of R does not appear. What might be happening?

There can be a problem with the temporary
directory used for holding the R output en route to the Viewer. Check
that the Windows temporary directory and the SPSS temporary directory in
Edit>Options>Files are consistent. (They don't have to be,
but that might avoid other problems.) Also, some older Statistics
versions had problems in this area if the temporary directory name contains
spaces or accented characters. Be sure that you have installed the
fixpack for V19 and have the latest R Essentials for V19 installed.

Friends
Even this simple request carries normally. No error message appears, but no output R is provided. BEGIN PROGRAM R. spsspkg.SetOutput("ON") a<-c(31,21) print(sum(a)) END PROGRAM. I pushed the output through spsspkg.SetOutput("ON"). Still does not work. Carlos Renato Statistcian |
This is no solution, but what happens if you run write.csv(1:10. 'd:/temp/test.csv') If the file is created, at least you know R is doing something. What Spss version are you using? Do the plugin and the R (sub)version match with the Spss version? Did you try if R runs at all? Cheers!! Thanks for all. Problem solved. I was running with R2.10.0. R2.10.1 installed the problem ended. Carlos Renato Statistician |
I'm running R2.10.0
How do I get install 2.10.1? (I've mucked around on CRAN, and couldn't find it). Thanks, Barry DeCicco

And, of course, found it one minute after I posted the request.
