Trimming of posts: Nabble vs e-mail

Bruce Weaver
Administrator
In another thread, someone (whose initials may be DM) encouraged another member to TRIM THEIR POSTS!!!

I suspect that other member is interacting with the mailing list via e-mail, because it would appear that when one responds via the Nabble web-page, the quoted material (which is obtained by clicking on the Quote button above the reply window) gets trimmed automatically--at least when one also reads the list via Nabble.  By the way, if someone really wants to see the bit that was trimmed, they can click on a link that says:

... [show rest of quote]

I don't know if folks who read the list via e-mail also see that "show rest of quote" message, as I set the NOMAIL option, and interact with the list via Nabble exclusively.

HTH.

No Ryan, you are not--at least not on this occasion.  ;-)

In fact, your reply to my post (when viewed via Nabble) shows the "Show rest of quote" message even when quoting a fairly short message like my original post in this thread.  Here's the link to view your reply via Nabble:
