There is no "LOOKUP" function in SPSS. Perhaps you are referring to the a
lookup table using MATCH FILES? -----Original Message----- From: SPSSX(r) Discussion [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of MOUNKARA Yakoubou Sent: Friday, September 26, 2008 3:33 AM To: [hidden email] Subject: USE OF THE FUNCTION Hello!Pls i need an assistance on how to use the function LOOKUP Thanks -- MOUNKARA Yakoubou Cell:+227 96 96 78 24 +227 21 79 17 11 bur Tel: +227 20 72 32 75 ===================== To manage your subscription to SPSSX-L, send a message to [hidden email] (not to SPSSX-L), with no body text except the command. I am having some difficulty interpreting the output for cox regression.
the following is an example from the output. We are looking at adolescent drug use and crime. the output for substance abuse is Substance abuse (b) .96 (se) .08 (exp(b)) 2.50 Some seem to interpret this as substance abusers are 2.5 times more likely to commit a crime. Others seem to interpret this as the hazard (or risk?) of crime increases by 2.5. Are both of these correct? "The Exp(B) column presents the estimated change in risk (hazard) associated
with a one-unit change in a predictor, controlling for other predictors. Exp(B) is also called the hazard ratio, since it represents the ratio of the hazards for two individuals who differ by one unit in the predictor of interest." Does that help?
