1) I applied the 17.0.1 patch and did Help -> Check for Updates. The
following message appears
"Sorry, we are unable to verify the version of SPSS Statistics for
Windows that you are using."
Even though Help -> About... says Release 17.0.1 (Dec 1, 2008), I was
wondering why SPSS cannot verify the version when checking for Updates
from the help menu?
2) It seems that when accessing Help -> Check for Updates, that patches
are not regarded as updates because SPSS reported there are no updates
when I was using 17.0.0 and v17.0.1 had been released. The are hotfixes,
patches, updates and upgrades. May I suggest that at least patches be
reported when Help -> Check for Updates... is accessed.
