OK, here's the standard message. I'm copying to the List, so that
members who haven't responded already, won't feel they need to: When you subscribed to the list, you received a welcome message (I'm copying it below) with instructions. As you can see, the message said "Please save this message for future reference [...]. If you ever need to leave the list, you will find the necessary instructions below". Maybe you didn't keep the message. Anyway, send a message to [hidden email] with the following words in the body of the message: SIGNOFF SPSSX-L. (You have to send it, of course, from the address from which you're subscribed to the list.) Don't add anything else (your name, a title for the message...). It should work. If it doesn't, go the listserv web page and unsubscribe there: http://www.listserv.uga.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=spssx-l&A=1 This is how it's done for all lists managed by LISTSERV software and conventions. Generally, these are longer-running mailing lists; the LISTSERV convention originated long before the Web. Most or all LISTSERV lists have names of eight characters or less; many have names ending in "-L". |
