Upgrading

Doug
Hi all,
Our school is undergoing its annual license renewal, and users have
the option of upgrading to v18 (PASW). I'm currently still with v16,
never having upgraded to v17. I also have the option of upgrading to
v17 if I choose. I've searched the archives and it seems that 17 is a
better choice than 16, but what about v18? The other alternative
(which I'm seriously considering) is sticking with v16 for now with
the intention of moving to R.

Any insights appreciated.

Thanks
Doug

Re: Upgrading

In my opinion I would move straight to 18 – 17 showed a lot of improvements but I felt it was quite slow – I beta tested 18 and found it faster and the changes to the GUI do make it a much better option than 17.  I was frustrated when the beta version of 18 expired but now I have the full release I’m very satisfied.

Best Wishes

Re: Upgrading

Jason Burke
The integration of R is even better in v18. There are many extension
commands, that use R packages, available from Developer Central.
