Utilities Variables Then Quickly Typing the Variable Name With V15

Was there any resolution ever on the issue of going to
Utilities/Variables then quickly typing in the name of a variable you
wanted to quickly find in a data file?
 
I have V15 installed on my machine and I cannot do it anymore.
 
You might or might not believe how valuable that function has been to me
over the years.
